Design Reports

Task Force Purpose:

To assist the city in planning, reviewing designs and overseeing the management of downtown redevelopment initiatives including the waterfront, city hall, and fire station. The redevelopment of key sites and facilities in downtown will have a major long term economic, environmental and social impact on the city. The city has retained consultants to pick up where the charrette process left off. Close coordination with and oversight of consultants is essential however and the city is calling on both members of the community and outside experts to ensure the must successful possible outcome to the redevelopment process. Committee will work closely with the city and consultants to review plans, make recommendations for changes to enhance design, keep public informed, and monitor progress, timelines and budgets. The committee will serve in an advisory capacity to the city (Mayor, Board, and Community Development Department).
